At NRF 2026 SAP unveiled AI agents and tools for retailers, including an Order Reliability Agent and a Storefront MCP Server for shopping through AI assistants.
At the NRF 2026 retail conference in January, SAP announced that it is building AI into the core of its retail platform. Retail Intelligence uses AI-generated simulations for demand and inventory planning. Through the Joule copilot, staff create or retire product assortments in natural language.
The Order Reliability Agent, planned for Q2 2026, flags risks in order status, stock availability and fulfillment before they reach the customer. The Storefront MCP Server for SAP Commerce Cloud makes online storefronts intelligible to AI assistants such as ChatGPT.
AI is moving from individual features to agents that carry out tasks across the retail workflow. For Ergonet, which builds tools for product images, SEO and catalog import, it means catalogs that an AI agent can read and act on.
